A new collection of spoken word performances by the Beat legends.
Cold Spring Records are virtually reuniting Beat writers William Burroughs and Brion Gysin on a new LP out this April. The bluntly-titled William Burroughs and Brion Gysin collects rare recordings from the vaults of the British Library, including Burroughs reading at a live show in Liverpool in 1982 that takes up the whole of the first side of the album, Gysin performing a selection of his permutated poems and rarely-heard home recordings made by the pair in Paris in 1970.
The 180g vinyl is a suitably black affair – fittingly for a Beat project, there are no fancy psychedelic colours involved here.
This looks to be the first must-have vinyl project of the year and is available from the usual suspects as well as directly from Cold Spring: https://coldspring.co.uk/
