Inspired by – but not exactly the true story of – the 1980s female wrestling show G.L.O.W (Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling), Netflix’s GLOW will be available to watch from June 23rd.
The show tells the story of unemployed actress Ruth Wilder, who finds herself joining a band of other Hollywood misfits as they launch a new women’s wrestling organisation, and is created by Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch. Whether it can be as absurd, outrageous and bizarre as the real life show that it is inspired by remains to be seen. But it looks like it might be fun.
