The Alfred Hitchcock Short Story Collections

Alfred Hitchcock was one of the few film directors to become a household name – instantly recognisable even to people who didn’t care about movies. Between directing films, he hosted the long-running TV series Alfred Hitchcock Presents / The Alfred Hitchcock Hour, and was the face of a surprising number of short story collections. Not that he actually edited any of these – it’s unlikely that he even read any of them – but his name was a decent enough guarantee of quality for thriller readers to keep these books in print for years.

And we haven’t even touched on the Alfred Hitchcock Presents comic book, Alfred Hitchcock’s Mystery Magazine or the Three Investigators series, in which three young boys are rather questionably sent on criminal investigations by the director.
