
On Thursday April 14th, the Horse Hospital in London plays host to the latest event from the Miskatonic Institute of Horror Studies, with the fascinating sounding Holy Torture: Desire, Cruelty, Power and Religion in 1960s-70s Cinema.
Instructor Virginie Selavy from Electric Sheep magazine will take the audience through a world of satanic possession, witch hunting and nunsploitation, from Ken Russell’s The Devils through arthouse / grindhouse Eurosleaze like Flavia The Heretic and the strange sexuality and spiritual freedoms of Juan López Moctezuma’s 1977 vampire tale Alucarda.
