The BFI’s cult film offshoot Flipside returns in late April with a pair of British cult film classics on blu-ray.
Beat Girl, the great juvenile delinquency rock ‘n’ roll romp that combines teenage bad girls, Christopher Lee, Oliver Reed, a stirling John Barry score and striptease acts, comes in three different cuts with several great looking extras, including an interview with star Gillian Hills, a rare horror short (Cross-Roads) starring Lee, and a couple of 1960s glamour films.
Also coming is Expresso Bongo, the Val Guest film starring Cliff Richard, released for the first time in its full theatrical cut. Again, the extras alone seem worth the price, with a COI film about juvenile delinquents and Michael Winner’s film debut, the short The Square, once thought lost.
Look out for reviews of both releases soon.
