Clangers, Bagpuss and Co. at the V&A Museum of Childhood

From Saturday March 19th to October 9th, the V&A’s Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green will host an exhibition featuring the wonderful world of Smallfilms – the small scale British animation business run by Oliver Postgate and Peter Firmin, which created the likes of The Clangers, Bagpuss, Ivor the Engine, Pogles Wood and Noggin the Nog. Basically everything good about children’s television.

On display will be original puppets, sets and filming equipment from the various shows, taking us from development to production.

And over the Easter weekend, there will be a Smallfilms marathon – back-to-back screenings of all the shows – wonderful!
